Today, LLCIP 2015 ventured out to Common Ground in Oberlin for some team building! We were led by a former intern, Lydia Lee and her ‘buddies’. Our team got a lot closer – literally and figuratively! Just a few pictures are featured below.
Also this week – we had our Speed Interviewing/Networking event! We had 14 professionals from across Lorain County come in to give our interns feedback on networking, interviewing, and other types of professional skills. Each intern had to an opportunity to interview with three different professionals. Thank you to the interviewers for making it such a great experience!
Because we have no team meeting this week due to the holiday, we’d like to share our community projects for this summer! Happy Independence Day! 🙂
Nord Center Book Nook
The Nord Center is a non-profit organization that focuses on the recovery of the mentally ill, rape crisis, and much more. They are looking to develop a small library for their clients to utilize and enjoy. The library will consist of 3-6 bookcases, wall art, and books to fill the shelves with.
All of the work will be done previous to the LLCIP Community Project Day. We will be hosting a ribbon cutting in the morning around 9:30am to open to ‘Book Nook’. The rest of the Community Project Day will be mainly focused on the Gathering Hope House/Music on a Mission project.
Gathering Hope House Event
Gathering Hope House is a non-profit organization that focuses on the support and recovery of the mentally ill. Our project with Gathering Hope House consists of hosting a party event for the consumers of the organization. We are partnering with Music on a Mission, another non-profit organization, to create a themed event that everyone will enjoy! There will be games, food, and fun!
Last week LLCIP 2015 toured Riddell in Elyria. Riddell is a company that manufactures football helmets and related products. Did you know that this company produces the majority of NFL helmets?!
